About the Bujinkan Organization
Bujinkan means “Divine Warrior House.” It is an international organization with its Hombu dojo in Chiba Prefecture in Japan. Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu has its roots in feudal martial arts and warriorship and its branches and leaves in modern combat and de-escalation. It is comprised of nine Ryu–ha as taught to Hatsumi Masaaki Soke by Toshitsugu Takamatsu.
The nine Ryu–ha are:
- Togakure Ryu Ninjutsu
- Gyokko Ryu Kosshijutsu
- Koto Ryu Koppojutsu
- Takagi Yoshin Ryu Jutaijutsu
- Kukishinden Ryu Happo Hinkenjutsu
- Shinden Fudo Ryu Dakentaijutsu
- Gikan Ryu Koppojutsu
- Kumogakure Ryu Ninpo
- Gyokushin Ryu Ninpo
Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu incorporates both physical and philosophical aspects, trains both with and without weapons and is a complete system of self–defense. As well, it’s a lot of fun!
